Community-Based Support for Patients in Recovery

Recovery Coaching Peer Support

Accessible Recovery Resources in Youngstown, OH

Addiction recovery is a largely internal process, but to make progress on your emotional and mental goals, it’s important to address some external factors as well. Addiction can have a negative impact on your ability to access certain vital resources. Trying to navigate the world alone while in recovery can make accessing these resources even more difficult.

At Neil Kennedy Recovery Center (NKRC), we’re proud to offer a Recovery Coaching Peer Program alongside treatment services. A peer helps individuals gain access to the resources, services, and supports that will assist them in achieving long-term recovery. Lead by specialists in the Youngstown area, this program helps individuals address housing, education, employment, and more.

A recovery coach has personal experience with recovery and can offer “insider” knowledge to help navigate from a life of addiction to a life of recovery. A recovery coach will not provide counseling, therapy, or other clinical professional services. Instead, the primary duties of a recovery coach include:

Woman Talking to Patient
  • Assisting the person in recovery in developing and implementing individualized action plans based on individual goals and needs.
  • Teaching and supporting the skills needed by the individual.
  • Introducing the person in recovery to available services, community resources, other agencies, and systems that can be utilized to achieve individual recovery goals.

All your recovery coach’s capabilities are designed to help coordinate your recovery and simplify access to the resources you need. If you’re ready to receive recovery coaching by a peer to support long-term recovery, contact us today!
