Comprehensive Treatment

The Neil Kennedy Recovery Clinic offers a uniquely diverse and comprehensive continuum of treatment programs, which allows it to tailor treatment to the individual needs of each patient.  Treatment is designed to be gender and culturally specific and to take into consideration co-occurring diagnosis, drug of choice and history of relapse. Below are the services offered at each NKRC site.

Main Campus (Youngstown)

  • Detoxification:  Done on an inpatient basis, medical detoxification services are designed to bring patients to a drug-free, medically and emotionally stable state where the rest of rehabilitation can begin.

  • Residential Rehabilitation:  Provides the maximum structure for those people whose severity of illness, history of relapse or co-occurring conditions warrant the optimum level of program intensity and medical/emotional support.

  • PARTIAL HOSPITALIZATION (Day Treatment): These programs combine the advantages of a full treatment day with the opportunity to live at home and begin to put into practice the lessons learned in treatment (Offered at all locations).

  • Intensive Outpatient Programs:  (Offered at all locations).  These programs offer more intensity than traditional outpatient treatment (a minimum of 3 hours per day, 3 days per week) and combine increased treatment exposure and support with the opportunity to continue to work and live at home.

  • Outpatient Treatment:   Individuals and families are offered programming to provide primary care for people assessed to need the least restricted treatment possible and to provide ongoing continuing care for people completing one of the more intensive programs (Offered at all locations).

  • YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT PROGRAMMING:  (Offered at all locations).  Specialized assessment, education, outpatient and intensive outpatient services geared to the unique needs of adolescents and their families are offered through this program.

  • WOMAN TO WOMAN:  This program provides a full continuum of gender specific treatment for women.  It includes residential rehabilitation, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and continuing care as well as early intervention, outreach and referral for women and their children.  Babysitting for parents attending treatment sessions in the daytime is offered at our Youngstown location.  Click here for the Woman to Woman program brochure.

  • WOMAN TO WOMAN BOARDING HOUSE:  The boarding house provides a safe, supportive place for women to live while they are gaining the skills necessary for ongoing recovery. All residents in the boarding house meet the criteria for admission to partial hospitalization. The women sleep at the house and come to the Clinic to eat and participate in intensive treatment from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.  A typical stay in the house is approximately four weeks.
